Gibson Hummingbird
This cake was made as a secret surprise for a young lady's 21st birthday. My chocolate cake version of the Hummingbird was a 2/3 size scale model and accurate in as many details as possible. I worked with measurements and photographs in order to achieve the correct dimensions and detailing. All parts of the guitar were edible with the exception of the strings.
I entered this cake into the Cake Masters Magazine Cake Design Contest in 2020, 'Illusion Cakes' category. Over 100 international entries were submitted and I am delighted to say my beautiful Hummingbird was placed 2nd!
