Backdrop of airbrushed trees and clouds; sugar race track; sugar replicas of the client's own GT40 racing car and Porsche Martini, built with the wheels on axles so they could be 'driven'; hand cut/painted buildings, trees & formula 1 sign; sugar figures in race overalls; hand cut squares pieced together to create the checkered flag (front and back); sugar pearls embedded into the sugar paste on the cake board to give the impression of tarmac; spectators watching the race; two brickwork lined garages carved into the cake; last but not least tiny clock faces showing the age of both father and son via the minute and hour hands.
